    TITLE PAGE PHOTO: A cornucopia of early "Canadiana" pine and primitives; most of the items are in there "original" [old paint] condition. In the late 60's and 70's many antique furniture pieces were "skinned" of there wonderful old original paint and finishes. PS: The very early "H" stretcher Windsor is attributed to Barnett Wilt, a renowned  Prince Edward Island chair maker from the first half of the 1800s.


    Original Oil Painting, (Fredericton, New Brunswick, Circa: 1955). Signed N B - H S. - Hester and Dorothy Sleep were sisters and Fredericton, artists; who studied under Lawrence P. Harris [Owens Gallery - Mount A U] and the son of Lawrence S. Harris one of the founding member of the Group of Seven.

    INTERESTING & FOLKSY "Man Smoking Pipe" - Quebec "French Habitant" style. Picked, in Tiny Township, Southern Georgian Bay, ON, a region where many French Canadians, (from QC) settled, in the 1800's. (Approx. 15" H.) Hand Carved Butternut - (now almost extinct); the trees ONCE grew abundantly in this region, along the shores of Georgian Bay.

    HIGHLY COLLECTABLE Snider clocks - were a line of popular mantel, wall, and starburst clocks that were designed and manufactured in Toronto, Ontario, by Harry and Michael Snider between 1950 and 1976. The company was renowned for producing a wide variety of distinctive mid-century modern (MCM) designs that were sold across Canada.

     PS: Clock not working, (don't think it would take much to hear it ticking again?). PPS: A great WONDERFUL example, of Mid-Century wall art.
